I Had the Perfect Video
This 60 second short form video was crafted as a storytelling piece set to the fast paced instrumental "Heaven To Me" by Tyler, The Creator. It was designed to encapsulate what I initially believed to be the perfect video idea—until technical difficulties intervened. After my SD card became corrupted and I was locked out of my MacBook, the project seemed to fall apart. However, this unexpected setback ultimately brought me back to reality, teaching me a valuable lesson in the creative process: as a creative professional, it’s essential to remain adaptable, avoid stressing over the small things, and learn to pivot when faced with challenges.
The video was filmed on a Sony A7IV with a Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 lens at 24 FPS, with ISO settings adjusted across clips for optimal exposure. I also used a wireless DJI Mic for clear, crisp audio capture. For color grading, I applied CinePrint16 in DaVinci Resolve to maintain consistency with my signature style across projects. The editing process was completed in Premiere Pro, where I incorporated various filters and edits to sustain viewer engagement throughout the more dynamic, faster-paced structure. Sound effects and music were sourced from platforms like Soundly, Epidemic Sounds, Artlist.io, and YouTube. Below, I’ve included stills from key moments to give a deeper sense of the video’s mood and tone.
